Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
I’m Harold Parisot, President and Founder of the Chinese Business Club in Paris, which I created in 2012 without any contacts or network. No one really believed in this project until Emmanuel Macron agreed to attend one of our events in June 2015. This brought significant attention to the club. Initially, the Chinese Business Club focused on Franco-Chinese relations, but since the pandemic, it has become a predominantly French network with over 130 member companies and about fifteen events held each year.
Managing such an influential club takes a lot of time. How do you maintain a skincare routine with such a busy schedule?
I make sure to shower at least once a day, sometimes twice, in the morning and evening, while being careful not to be too harsh on my skin. Sometimes, I just clean it with water. Keeping my skin hydrated is key, so I make sure to use a moisturizer morning and night. I’m also a fan of detox juices, especially pomegranate juice, which has powerful antioxidant properties.
Holistic wellness is deeply valued in Chinese culture. Do any traditional practices influence your skincare approach?
Yes, moderation is central to Chinese culture. I avoid sugar as much as possible, which I consider to be a drug. I notice that when I cut back, I lose fat almost instantly! I regularly drink green tea for its hydrating properties and benefits in managing cholesterol. I keep my alcohol consumption to just a few glasses of white wine each month. This balanced lifestyle not only keeps me youthful and energetic but also reflects in my skincare. Moreover, I'm fortunate to have a career I'm passionate about, which helps reduce my stress level.
You travel a lot. How do you adjust your skincare routine to changes in climate and time zones?
Wherever I go, I always bring my skincare essentials, especially sunscreen, as I often travel to sunny destinations. After a nice long shower at night, I like to use moisturizer to rejuvenate my skin from being in the sun all day. I love having a tan, but I stay cautious and avoid exposure between noon and 2 PM. As my dermatologist often reminds me, the real enemy is the sun!
You always have to look impeccable at professional events. Do you have any tips for always being at your best?
The key step in my morning routine after showering is applying moisturizer. I also apply it at night, although I’m careful not to use too much to avoid staining my sheets! It might sound basic, but for me, hydration is essential.
Where’s your go-to spot in Paris for lunch or dinner?
That’s a tough question! There are countless amazing places in Paris. I have a soft spot for the Hôtel Brach in the 16th arrondissement, with its trendy restaurant and amazing Sunday brunch. Otherwise, Café de la Paix, Hôtel de Crillon, and Fouquet’s on the Champs-Élysées are also favorites, and they’re all members of the Chinese Business Club. It’s not just about the food; the entire experience – from the service to the atmosphere – truly stands out. These places perfectly embody French excellence.
What’s your favorite product from Bellefontaine?
I really love Bellefontaine’s Intense Moisturizing Emulsion Gel, which I use regularly. It hydrates my skin perfectly, and it absorbs beautifully. When it comes to my skin, I don’t compromise and prefer using high-end products. I often go to the Bulgari Hotel in Paris for Bellefontaine facial and body treatments. After these treatments, I feel revitalized for a solid two weeks! I highly recommend the experience.
Do you have a secret place to relax on weekends?
Absolutely! My little haven is the Lagardère Paris Racing in the Bois de Boulogne. It’s a fantastic place boasting 44 tennis courts, year-round heated Olympic pools, and more. It’s my hidden oasis in Paris—definitely the go-to spot for recharging.
Ultimately, balance is everything. Whether it’s through my skincare routine, a commitment to wellness, or finding moments to recharge, I believe that taking care of yourself is the key to thriving in all areas of life!
